The Voyage to the Ends of the World
This body of work is inspired by the classical 'heroic journey' witnessed in mythology.
The 'heroic journey,' an age-old idea that finds its origins in literature and art, continues in the present day in film and television. It is a process of growth, change and self-discovery that continues to be experienced in the present day.
While the topographical landscapes captured here are artificially constructed, they refer to a natural environment. These abstractions serve to draw the viewer into a timeless time, free from the clutter and distraction of our overcrowded world.
Through its distinct ability to extract, lure and compel viewers, the camera transports them away to a sacred place where internal mental and emotional processes can take over.
In this way, the voyage hopes to mirror an inner reality as we journey through life.
The voyage is told through 22 photographs, in 5 chapters, of which some are shown here.
