Panoramic Singapore

When I was packing up to leave, and waiting for the work visa, I felt a sadness which I have never experienced in my life. It wasn't going to be my first time living overseas. But this time, it was different. I was very sure that this move was for good and I had no idea when I would return to my birthplace again.

The thought of uprooting to another country made me fear that I would lose a sense of myself and my birthplace. So I decided to confront the situation by making photographs of places which are vanishing and seldom presented to the outside world to remind myself of where I come from. A Singapore which I have often felt alienated from. By the time the work visa arrived, I had visited more places in three months than I ever had in my whole life.
